Nelo and Wanda Velez moved from Puerto Rico to the Austin, TX area in 2019 following their pastoral calling. Nelo served as a full-time worship pastor at a local church for the first 3 years and then served for another 3 years as a school admin of a Christian school in Liberty Hill, TX, where Wanda also served as a teacher. It was in Liberty Hill where Nelo and Wanda began a multicultural ministry in 2022 called “Casa de Provisión” (House of Provision) which began working with the hispanic community in the greater Austin area. This expanded in 2025 into a bilingual ministry which has the objective of bringing people together into a dynamic community that fosters positive exchange and meaningful relationships all within a booming city where almost everyone is new to the area. This community has been growing steadily with more people embracing this vision including key collaborators such as the Thurman family.
