The Vision

When Nelo and Wanda first moved to Texas someone shared a statement that had a ripple effect in their hearts. The statement was: “The whole greater Austin area is a mile wide, but an inch deep…” This is a truly profound description of the present status of the people that live in this area. There is a lot of growth, people moving in, commerce and development happening very fast, but relationships are mostly superficial. There is a transactional nature in the way people interact with each other which reveals God’s assignment for this time: not staying at the surface level.

At SOS we summarize our mission and vision with one word: intimacy. The Lord created us to cultivate a true, loving relationship with Him. By doing so we automatically begin to develop deeper relationships with one another as members of the body of Christ. This is the way that the early church of the book of Acts operated and it is our goal as a Christian community.
